Earned Recognition: join the pilot now or you'll have to wait a while - and see who else has joined!

The DVSA has advised that the Earned Recognition Pilot, which closes for applications on 28th February, will not immediately re-open to new applicants whilst the DVSA enters a "period of reflection". This is likely to be for several months.

This means that any companies wishing to achieve Earned Recognition may want to do so now, rather than waiting. Details of how to apply ASAP can be found here.

The DVSA has also now issued a list of those companies taking part n the ER pilot, which can be found here.

Labyrinth and TruTac are organising a meeting about ER this week on Wednesday 7th February (8.30am - 11am) at Squab Hall CV33 9QB and there is a very small number of spaces still available for interested parties. Please email Lucy Califano: officeadministrator@labyrinthsolutions.co.uk to request a space ASAP. Speakers include the DVSA and Beverley Bell CBE.

Earned Recognition: Labyrinth offers the full consultancy package

If you are thinking about applying for the DVSA's Earned Recognition pilot before the deadline on 28th February, you might need some help. Some customers are even now asking for transport operators to have this as part of their procurement requirements.

In order to qualify for the scheme the company must meet certain criteria, then apply for an audit and send emails every 4 weeks showing their compliance status based on both tachograph and maintenance data.

Although this is not complicated, sometimes undertsanding how all the requirements fit with you company's current systems can be daunting. What dashboards do you need? Will you pass the audit? how close are you to being ready?

Labyrinth is on hand to help. As well as being auditors, we understand the scheme in depth and can map your current arrangement against the requirements. We will however always remain impartial and the consultants who help a company to prepare will not also do the audit.

JRT success in BRC Global Standard Storage & Distribution

John Raymond Transport celebrate success in

BRC Global Standard for Storage & Distribution

John Raymond Transport’s Cannock site – part of the Nolan Group –  has been successful in adding the challenging BRC Global standard for Storage and Distribution to its industry standard achievements.  Preparation for the evaluation saw them working closely with Labyrinth Logistics Consulting.

John Raymond Transport’s Geraint Davies said:

“It’s great to have achieved this certification - we pride ourselves on our high standards at John Raymond Transport and it’s so important to have an industry-recognised standard that gives customers the assurance they need about our world class best practices.

Labyrinth’s work with us in preparing for the inspection made the whole process run smoothly and gave us complete confidence that we hadn’t overlooked anything that could trip us up - it was vital to our preparation”.

The project was a first time experience in this area of industry standard certification for both companies. This is a particularly exacting standard covering aspects of ISO 9001:2015, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene and is often requested by retailers and food manufacturers - and as a result can be useful as a route to win blue chip business.

Labyrinth Logistics Ruth Waring said: “This certification is pretty challenging but well worth it for logistics businesses that want to attract blue chip businesses.  John Raymond Transport continues to set itself apart from the pack with its drive to demonstrate its high standards - we expect that other companies will be keen to catch up.”

Following the success of the project, Labyrinth announced its readiness to accept clients who wish to obtain certification to the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.

If your company is thinking about going for this Standard, please contact Ruth Waring  or ring her on 01926 319860 for more information.
